NEW YORK, NY -- August 20, 2012 -- NBC News, America’s most watched news organization, will provide viewers with extensive, in-depth coverage of the national party conventions, including on-the-ground reporting and analysis from NBC’s trusted anchors and correspondents.

Online, NBC News Digital will provide a robust offering of text, video, and social reporting across its wide array of platforms. NBCNews.com will feature full on-site coverage, including breaking stories, live gavel-to-gavel streaming for both conventions, exclusive NBC News videos, interactive tools, and social sentiment analysis, leveraging its political hub, NBCPolitics.com and the NBCPolitics app for iPad.

Telemundo News will offer comprehensive coverage of the Republican and Democratic National Conventions with a focus on the issues that impact the Hispanic community.

Republican National Convention
* David Gregory will moderate “Meet the Press” from Tampa on Sunday, August 26.
* Matt Lauer will co-anchor split editions of “Today” from Tampa beginning Wednesday, August 28, while Savannah Guthrie co-anchors from New York.
* Brian Williams will anchor “NBC Nightly News” from the Tampa Bay Times Forum Monday, August 27 - Thursday, August 31.
* Brian Williams will anchor NBC News primetime coverage from 10-11pm ET / 7-8pm PT on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
* Tom Brokaw, who has covered every presidential election since 1968, will contribute across all platforms from Tampa.
* Also reporting from Tampa throughout the convention, in addition to Williams, Gregory, Lauer, Brokaw, and NBC News Political Director Chuck Todd: correspondents Andrea Mitchell, Peter Alexander, Ron Mott, Kelly O’Donnell, John Yang, and Luke Russert; senior political editor Mark Murray; and campaign embeds Garrett Haake, Alex Moe, Jamie Novogrod, and Andrew Rafferty.

Democratic National Convention
* David Gregory will moderate “Meet the Press” from Washington, DC on Sunday, September 2, before traveling to Charlotte for convention coverage.
* Savannah Guthrie will co-anchor split editions of “Today” from Charlotte beginning Wednesday, September 5, while Matt Lauer co-anchors from New York.
* Brian Williams will anchor “NBC Nightly News” from the Time Warner Cable Arena on Tuesday and Wednesday, and from the Bank of America Stadium on Thursday.
* Brian Williams will anchor NBC News primetime coverage from 10-11pm ET / 7-8pm PT on Tuesday and from 9-11pm ET / 6-8pm PT on Thursday.
* Tom Brokaw, who has covered every presidential election since 1968, will contribute across all platforms from Charlotte.
* Also reporting from Charlotte throughout the convention, in addition to Williams, Gregory, Guthrie, Brokaw, and NBC News Political Director Chuck Todd: correspondents Andrea Mitchell, Kristen Welker, and Ron Allen; senior political editor Mark Murray; and campaign embeds Carrie Dann, Jamie Novogrod, and Andrew Rafferty.


TELEMUNDO

* José Díaz-Balart will lead Telemundo News’ coverage, anchoring live broadcasts of “Noticiero Telemundo” (6:30pm ET/PT, 5:30pm CT) from each convention, four special editions of “Noticiero Telemundo” recapping the day’s most important events including the nominating and acceptance speeches by candidates of both parties (August 29-30 and September 5-6 at 11:35pm ET/PT, 10:35pm CT), and regular reports throughout the network's morning show “Un nuevo día” (7am ET/PT, 6am CT) and its daily news magazine “Al Rojo Vivo con María Celeste” (5pm ET/PT, 4pm CT).
* In addition, the network will offer in-depth analysis and interviews with opinion leaders and political experts directly from the conventions on its Sunday public affairs show “Enfoque con José Díaz-Balart” (August 26 and September 2 at 12pm ET/PT, 11am CT).


NBC NEWS DIGITAL

NBCNews.com
* NBCNews.com will provide wall-to-wall coverage of both conventions, including multimedia updates and reporting from teams on the ground in Tampa and Charlotte. NBC News will also live stream each convention from opening to close, including the network’s primetime coverage each night.
* The site’s political destination, NBCPolitics.com, will serve as convention central— sourcing the latest news and analysis from NBC News' First Read blog, social media updates from NBC's political team, as well as host the live video streams from both conventions. This experience can also be found of the NBCPolitics app for iPad.
* NBCPolitics.com will also feature real-time social sentiment analysis, using Crimson Hexagon technology, to measure public reaction on Facebook and Twitter—gauging the volume of reaction, breaking down the negative and positive sentiment, and tracking the topics that are the biggest drivers of that sentiment. Appearing in graphic form, this information will be paired with text analysis that will be updated on a continual basis by the network’s political team.

Social Media
* NBC News will host a series of Google+ hangouts with the network’s correspondents on the ground in both Tampa and Charlotte, and participants around the country.
* The team will also host a Storify page culling the best social content coming from the conventions.
* On Twitter, the NBC News team will be live tweeting from @NBCPolitics, @NBCNews and @NBCFirstRead, with a special focus on key speeches. Follow NBC News' coverage on Twitter using the following hashtags: #NBCPolitics, #Decision2012, #RNC2012 and #DNC2012. The NBC News live stream can also be found on Twitter.
* On Facebook, NBC News will live-stream key speeches and share the best photos from the conventions.

* theGrio.com will provide full coverage of both nominating conventions, including text and video packages highlighting important stories and events impacting black voters.
* theGrio will live stream TV One’s on-air convention coverage, which will be produced by NBC News.
* In Tampa, theGrio team will include managing editor Joy-Ann Reid, NBC News Correspondent Mara Schiavocampo, and theGrio video reporter Todd Johnson. theGrio’s political editor, Perry Bacon, will cover the politics of the convention from Washington. Reporting will highlight the black Republican presence at the convention and will include interviews with key black GOP leaders, including former RNC chairman Michael Steele, and black RNC delegates.
* In Charlotte, theGrio's coverage will include a look at the Democrats who could be the next black presidential candidate, the celebrity presence in Charlotte, and what Democrats are doing to combat voter ID laws, shortened early vote periods, and other potential impediments to getting their voters to the polls. The team on the ground in Charlotte will include Perry Bacon, Joy-Ann Reid, Mara Schiavocampo and Todd Johnson.

* NBCLatino.com's political reporter, Sandra Lilley, will cover both conventions for the website. Lilley will post daily reports for NBCLatino.com, as well as blog her experience and provide coverage using Twitter. Her reporting will also be translated into Spanish and be shared with Telemundo’s digital news platforms. Lilley will join Telemundo’s Jose Diaz-Balart in a NBC News Google+ hangout focused on the Latino Vote on Tuesday, September 4, at 2:00 pm ET.
